Join us for our first program of the year: Key AI Legal Issues in Employment Discrimination
Our own SHRM Volusia Flagler member, Rod Samra, will share how algorithms and automated systems may unintentionally discriminate based on race, gender, age, or disability. His discussion will include legal frameworks, specifically application of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and Section 508 to AI-driven employment decisions, as well as strategies for identifying and correcting bias in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other HR tech. He will also present on employer obligations around explainability, audit trails, and human oversight in AI tools, provide insights from federal investigations and litigation involving AI-related discrimination, and share recommendations for HR professionals and compliance officers to ensure fairness and legal defensibility.
Attendees will leave this session able to:
- Describe how artificial intelligence intersects with employment discrimination law
- Identify risks with AI in hiring and screening
- Better ensure legal compliance when utilizing AI in hiring and screening
- Implement ethical AI practices in hiring and workforce management
We hope to see you for this engaging and timely topic as we launch another year of exceptional programs and professional development!
