Join us as we hear from Barbara Ann Heegan - President & CEO of the Port Orange / South Daytona Chamber of Commerce - and Karen Chrapek - Executive Director for the Volusia Recovery Alliance, Inc. Our speakers will present on the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative that details an aim to create a healthier, more inclusive work environment that benefits both employees and the organization as a whole.

Our presenters will discuss promoting employee well-being and the importance of providing resources and programs that help employees manage stress, promote work-life balance, and encourage open discussions about mental health. They will also share how employers can support recovery and rehabilitation through offering flexible work arrangements, access to counseling services, and training for managers to understand and assist employees in their recovery journeys.

Barbara Ann and Karen will also help the audience enhance workplace policies, including developing clear guidelines on substance use, providing training on stigma reduction, and ensuring that all employees feel valued and respected, regardless of their recovery status. Finally, the group will learn about local recovery supports and how to access training.
