Regional Employment Practices Specialist John has been in the Human Resources field for over 24 years where he mostly specialized in Employee Relations. John currently works for Brown & Brown where he created and leads the Leave of Absence program for all U.S. employees. Before Brown & Brown John work for Hertz car rental for 15 years where he specialized in employee relations and union avoidance. John received his BS in Human Resources Mgmt from Florida Southern College and is currently pursuing his Juris Masters in HR and Employment Law from Florida State University. |

Director - Organizational Development & Learning Serena has held HR and Leadership Development roles in the hospitality, higher education, and healthcare industries. She earned her PhD in Human Resources Education from Louisiana State University in 2014. Serena holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM-SCP, Project Management Professional (PMP), and is a certified RightPath facilitator. She is a graduate of the Leadership Daytona Class 38, a member of the Boss Lady organization, and a past president of the Daytona Beach West Rotary Club. She also serves on multiple Workforce Development Taskforces and in various district support roles for Rotary. |

Organizational Development Consultant Christine Langley is a Human Resources strategist and organizational development expert with over 20 years of experience in aligning workforce strategies with business objectives. Starting as an intern and rising to a corporate board member, she built an HR department from the ground up, played a key role in establishing an ESOP, and helped facilitate the sale of a company. Christine has led initiatives that align organizational structures, processes, and cultures with business goals by fostering collaboration through strategic communication. A Distinguished Toastmaster and certified HR professional (SPHR, SHRM-SCP), she holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from UCF. Founder and President Teresa Rand is the Founder and President of Rand Consulting, a company specializing in speaking, training, and career coaching. She is a certified Gallup Strengths and DISC Coach and a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach. Rand leads teams and individuals in developing their strengths to excel in their chosen career, find a new career, or start a business. She is the organizer of the Boss Lady Community, which assists and supports women in developing their leadership skills, and the host of the Boss Lady Podcast. |

Human Resource Director Susan Martin brings more than 20 years of human resources experience with a strong background in recruiting and employee relations within the logistics industry. From 2011 to 2013, she stepped into the aviation security field as a Program Manager focused on TSA regulatory compliance, where she successfully applied her HR expertise in a highly regulated environment. In 2023, Susan returned to human resources as a department of one for the City of Daytona Beach Shores, where she provides comprehensive HR leadership and operational support to the organization. As Vice President of Membership, Susan is focused on strengthening member engagement, welcoming and retaining new members, and ensuring the chapter delivers meaningful value to HR professionals at every stage of their careers. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Susan has also lived in Seattle, Washington and Cincinnati, Ohio before settling in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2022. She earned her SHRM-CP credential in 2023 and is currently preparing to sit for the SHRM-SCP. Susan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Leadership and a Master’s degree in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. She is also MNUS (Maintaining a Non-Union Status) trained and holds an ACE (Airport Certified Employee) certification. |

Director of Human Resources Cheryl has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources and Management. She recently transitioned to her new position as Director of HR with Council on Aging. She’s been a member of SHRM National since 2009 and the local chapter since 2018. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management Degree from Saint Leo University. She received her PHR certification in 2010 and her SHRM-CP certification in 2015. She is very active in volunteering within her local community and also serves on the Board of Southern States Rescued Rottweilers. |

Attorney Jan is an associate in the Orlando, Florida office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He represents employers and management in employment litigation, as well as provides advice and counsel to his clients with the aim of preventing or reducing the impact of any lawsuits filed against them. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Jan worked at a boutique law firm, first as an associate and then partner, focusing on commercial and financial services litigation. No stranger to the court room, Jan regularly and successfully tried cases on behalf of his clients, handling the suits in their entirety—from inception, through discovery, to trial. He also then defended those favorable outcomes on appeal. A dual citizen and native of Berlin, Germany, Jan enjoys following soccer, long distance running, and a cappella singing.
